Music180 personally reviews and verifies every pro through references and direct conversations and personal knowledge. We go to great lengths to ensure that there are no fraudulent accounts and that everyone is who they say they are.

How do I know that the pro is the one critiquing my music?

As noted above, we vet and certify every pro and our team is continually in close contact with our pros to ensure the best possible experience for all involved. We maintain the highest levels of customer service and client relations.

Once I buy a service, what process takes place?

1) Once a member clicks on “Buy Service,” they are taken to a page where they can upload media (songs, videos, images, documents) or choose media from their personal vault to submit to the pro. Members can also write a message to be sent to the Pro detailing specifics about their song/video/document.
2) Once submitted and paid for, the pro receives an email notification that someone has purchased one of their services and gives them instant access to the uploaded media and message. The member receives notification for a successful submission.
3) Depending on the service purchased, the pro will then carry out the selected service within the turnaround time (if applicable). Notification of a completed service will be sent to the member.
4) The pro will be paid cumulatively at the end of the month and the member will receive feedback (if applicable). If the pro likes what he hears, he may want to establish a more long-term relationship and will contact the member through his/her Music180 account.

Do I have to be a member to buy pro services?

Yes. One needs to have an account to be able to upload media and to communicate with pros. It will also help to have other songs, videos and images up on a member’s profile page if a pro wants to check your band out more in depth for a potential future relationship.

What are the rules and policies for selling services as a Pro?

Music180’s policies are rules that help to create a safe, fair and enjoyable trading environment for all Music180 members. As a seller, you are responsible for reviewing and understanding Music180’s selling policies, as well as all applicable laws and regulations as outlined in the Rules for Sellers Overview.

Policies and guidelines specifically related to selling an item involve:

Prohibited and restricted items ― What items can and cannot be listed. Music180’s restrictions are often based on country and state laws, including copyright or trademark laws. However, many restrictions involve the sale of controversial or sensitive items and are not necessarily prohibited by law. Before you list your item, it is a good idea to review Music180’s Prohibited and Restricted items policy to see if it is on the list of what may not be sold on Music180.

Listing practices ― Actions that are not allowed in listings. To promote a safe, fair and enjoyable trading experience, Music180 has established a set of Community standards and guidelines for listings and other Community content. These include policies restricting the use of profanity, HTML and JavaScript, and links. Music180’s listing policies also provide guidelines on how certain items may be listed and described. For example, using brand names or other words inappropriately for the purpose of attracting buyers to a listing (called keyword spamming) is not allowed. Listing policies also include prohibiting practices that would circumvent Music180 fees. You should familiarize yourself with Music180’s listing policies before posting an item.

Completing the sale ― Practices that are not allowed involving transactions. For example, accepting payment and sending an item that is significantly different from the item described in the item listing is not allowed. For policy and examples, see Seller Non-performance.

Violation of Music180 policies can result in a range of actions, including:

  • Listing cancellation
  • Forfeit of Music180 fees on cancelled listings
  • Limits on account privileges
  • Loss of PowerSeller status
  • Account suspension

When policy violations occur, Music180 emails the seller, as well as bidders, that a listing has been ended. Learning about Music180’s selling policies before you list an item will help you to avoid unintentionally breaking rules (including the law). Music180’s selling policies are updated to respond to marketplace, Community and security issues, so it is important to check them regularly for changes.
